How to Overcome Your Fear of Being Visible

Today we are going to talk about how to overcome your fear of being visible by putting yourself out there in the world. I know it’s confronting by really showing who you are can be downright scary I totally hear you! We are going to dive in to look at what fear is doing to currently hold you back and how to get comfortable being visible to people in your life, career or business.

First of all I want to share a bit about me and why I am writing this blog today. Lately I have been on a personal journey to being ok with being visible to others through my coaching business. I am the sort of person that finds it much easier to be behind my computer and speaking to small groups of people it’s just my comfort zone. When you ask me to step out by going to big networking events and events where there are lots of people I face fear. I get overwhelmed with big groups and being visible to lots of people at the same time, is down right scary.

To step out of my fear I created my own networking group for women, which love personal development just like I do. All of a sudden I am now a group leader and doing something I love to do which is to inspire women to be the best version of themselves. I have found an inner strength inside of me by pushing my fear away by listening to my true calling so I am going to show you how you can do this for yourself as well.

Face your fears daily

Fears are always going to be around in your daily life whether it be in your life, your career or your business or maybe all 3. When we are facing something new in our life or everything is changing or we are going through a period of personal growth, fear will be present guaranteed. Fear is our safety net to hold us in the safe zone, which is actually just holds us back instead. Listening to your fear is only actually limiting your potential instead of helping.

It’s about facing your fears on a daily basis depending on what is going on in your life. I use meditation to calm my mind and eft (tapping) to help deal with fear in a positive way. Find a way that fear can help you instead of letting this limit you so I want you to think of a way that works for you to calm your mind and face your fears. Do this practice you choose daily to help you move forward faster in your life and create positive change.

Build your visibly slowly

Being a life coach you are your brand and you have to be out there inspiring others. This includes the online world and in person world. This blog doesn’t just apply to business owners but to everyone but I am using business as the main example (it could be your career or life too). Start off slowly by building your confidence by starting with one thing, then move on to the next and so on from there.

An example could be you start a blog first, then do a video blog for your audience and then move on to a video interview series (which is highly visible). If you started with the thought of the video series first you would run a mile away and doubt yourself like crazy. It’s a step by step process by gaining experience at one level then you can move to the next level and so on. As long as you are taking active steps it doesn’t matter what anyone else is doing, just do what is right for you.

By looking at your fears and building your visibly slowly you will get to be where you want to be in your life. Just be kind to yourself as transformation takes time and as long as you are taking steps to work towards your goals you are following your path. I would love to hear in the comments below what are you going to do to be more visible in your life this week?

  1. Thank you for your comment Omeshia and sharing your journey. This is something I have also struggled with in my past, I completely understand where you are coming from. You have taken the first step already by saying what you want to achieve and I 100% believe you can do this as you already have the determination to do so. Believe in yourself that you can do this and reach out for support to other’s around you when you feel you need the extra support.
