6 Tips for Dealing with Anxiety

As a long time suffer of anxiety and self harm, I thought I would share my tips on how I cope with them. Let’s get into it since if you are reading this then you need the tips more than the intro

1. Journal= This is one of my favorite methods. You don’t have to be a writer or even have anything makes sense. Just write.

Write your thoughts

What you wish you were like

Who you wish you were instead

Who you admire

Who is your hero

It really could be anything. It doesn’t even have to be words. All you need is to take a pen and paper and then just go with the flow.

You can draw

Draw squiggle lines

 

2. Read= Just like journaling, you can read whatever you want.

A comic book

magazine

cook book

your journal

 

3. Play a game= You can play a phone game. Or make up a game.

Pick out a person

Imagine what you think their life is like

What are they thinking

Pretend they are a CIA agent here to look for aliens

 

4. Count= I know they say this all the time but I like to count to 8 repeatedly. Or I will say the alphabet

 

5. Daydream= This is basically tip 1 and 2 combined. Try to clear your mind. Drift off to somewhere else you would rather be

 

6. Focus on something around you= Just like that person game. Focus on a photo.

What is that photo of?
